Puppies, Puppies, Puppies....
If you are interested in a puppy please click on the puppy questionnaire tab, fill out the questionnaire and submit to us. We will contact you for an interview at our home where you can meet our dogs and we can talk further about your plans for a ridgeback. We want to ensure the best possible homes for our puppies. Our puppies are raised in our home and receive lots of love and socialization. We have two children that do a great job along with their friends socializing them with kids. They are taken outside to explore puppy size agility equipment and other surfaces to help make a confident well rounded puppy. We can't do it all however, so there will be lots of work expected on your part.
There are many things that should be considered before bringing home a new puppy. The expense of your puppy will be the smallest investment you make. A dog can become very expensive, food alone can add up quickly not to mention veterinary expenses. Also, do you have time for a puppy? Can you come home during the day for the first few weeks to let the puppy out to potty? They typically don't potty in their crates, however if left for too many hours they will have no choice. Do you have time to take him to puppy class? Socialization, especially with Ridgebacks is crucial. Puppies keep you up at night at first. Are you willing to give up some good nights rest to take your puppy outside? Are you willing to listen to the crying while crate training? Please consider these things before purchasing a puppy. Many dogs, even pure breed dogs end up in shelters because their owners did not realize the responsibility they were taking on.

We are excited to announce Neila was just bred this past week. Puppies expected in April 2012. Neila was bred to a lovely boy Ansel, CH Rollings Ansel Adams of Spring Valley. This is a snip of a letter of gratitude that Paul wrote on his Facebook page. What a wonderful compliment!!!
Of course, I'm grateful to have Lucius! He's really perfect for me, his attitude and inclinations fit my life ideally! I'm so glad it all worked out that I got to be the one to bring him home! It's hard to fathom it's been a year and some change that he's been with me...
But even moreso, I'm grateful that I got him from you and Mark. It was incredibly gracious of you to have us over to visit so many occasions before he came home, and then even after for playdates!
When we moved, it put me at ease to know we could always reach you or be in touch as Lucius grows. Your and Mark's advice has often been a godsend as he's grown, and it's huge comfort to know how invested you are and wish to be in the lives of these animals.
For all of these things, thank you! My best to you and the entire Emerald Isle family!
